About the Event

Shock Bootcamp for Progressive Care Nurses
Shock and cardiopulmonary insufficiency appear commonly in the ICU, but can be difficult to detect in the progressive care unit. Intended for clinicians in a high-acuity PCU setting, this session explores the physiologic signs, concepts and diagnostics used to rapidly identify a decompensating patient and best practices for resuscitation. All types of shock are discussed, including a review of hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of diagnostics, and review cardiopulmonary support strategies.
Objectives
Identify clinical signs and hemodynamic monitoring changes indicative of an acutely decompensating PCU patient experiencing shock.
Evaluate medical and nursing interventions used to manage PCU patients in various stages and states of shock and resuscitation.
